What does Buddy Adventure allow you to do in Pokémon Go?
Once you reach Trainer level 2, Buddy Adventure introduces a series of new activities and benefits:
You can play with and feed berries to your Buddy in AR mode
Your Buddy will follow you on the map screen
Increasing your Buddy level unlocks a range of perks, including additional aid during the catch phase, a CP boost, and finding items
Up to three players can share the same AR space with their Pokémon to take a picture
 
How to select your buddy in 'Pokemon GO':
Before you can play with your buddy in Pokémon GO, you have to select your buddy. Your selected buddy walks with you and earns the trainer candy depending on the distances they've walked. To choose which of your already captured Pokémon you wish to be your buddy, you start by going to your profile in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Tap "Choose Buddy" and select any of the Pokemon in your inventory. Usually, players select their favorite Pokémon, or one that they know provides valuable candy. Once you select a buddy, the Pokémon will then walk next to you as you travel and have its own profile, located right next to the icon that triggers the trainer's profile. You have to be at least a Level 2 trainer to be able to select a buddy, so if you're just starting out you'll have to level up first.
 
How to play with your buddy?
Once you've selected your buddy, your buddy will now be able to go on an adventure with you. You will see them running around you on the map. Now that you've got this done, you can then press on its face again which will open up the buddy menu. You can also access this by tapping on your face and then tapping on your buddy. Hit the play button and you will be asked to find a flat surface for you buddy to spawn on. Once you've done that, you will be able to interact with them! Tap on them to get them to do kind of an attack move, and you can also scratch their head which will make them happy (scratch on the glowing golden sparkles)! You will want to play with your buddy periodically because it's one of the ways it gains hearts and will unlock additional benefits from having a buddy. Once you level up to a Great Buddy, your Pokemon may help you in encounters and also can bring you items. If you get them to Ultra Buddy, they will let you know about interesting placing nearby and sometimes bring you Souvenirs.
