Mod 16 is live and now more than ever, changes may be scary. Every class has received nerfs for Neverwinter Mod 16, however, every class is still broken in one way or another. So, which class is/are the best right now? Here are my thoughts based on my own gaming experience.

 
 

Barbarian remains strong overall, but most of that is AoE damage on trash (and don't get me wrong, this is not a bad thing, trash can be every bit as lethal as bosses now). Single target I think rogues have an edge, followed closely by wizards.
 
Wizard is probably the best rounded class. Good boss DPS, good AoE DPS. The small few times I've beaten a wizard on the paingiver charts as a 23k ilvl barbarian. It's when that wizard is significantly lower than me in ilvl and doesn't have the new artifact weapon set. A competently played 20k wizard will come very close to me in DPS, even when still using exalted primal while I have alabaster.
 
Number 3 is probably hunter currently. Hunters are the kings of AoE, even better than barbarians.
 
Arbiter cleric has potential, but has a very high skill ceiling and most I've seen don't play it that well. A great arbiter is awesome, a mediocre arbiter is terrible. Strong AoE but requires positioning due to their big one being a line and not a circle. Has sustain issues on longer boss fights, and according to the official forums several of their abilities/feats are bugged and nonfunctional so if those get fixed it'll be even better.
 
ACT logs vs. training dummies are showing all DPS specs within about 10% of each other, which is where Cryptic wanted it, and would be fairly balanced...however.
 
Heard Stormwarden HR is really decent. Like, from what I was hearing a week or so ago they’re new ultimate Snipe was hitting in the multi millions and plus I already enjoy my ranged HR who just slams split the sky/Cordon of arrows/hawkshot/electric shot/aimed shot. You can deal good AoE and ST DPS and now with snipe you now actually have a daily that is useful.
 
Keep in mind that what ACT shows when beating up a training dummy is not what you'll actually see in an instance. Melee will spend a lot of time running around and repositioning on most bosses due to the lethality of AoEs and how mobile a lot of the bosses are. Ranged classes have an advantage here as they'll have higher time on target, and are likely to have fewer downs vs. trash.
